Simplified Wreck Survey
The UKHO wreck records for the shipwreck Strathisla located off the coast of Pitenweem Harbour at coordinates 56 12.528 N, 2 43.44 W show it sank outside the entrance and was initially marked by loose gear on the surface. Later dive surveys and magnetometer searches in 1984 confirmed the vessel lies in a very rocky seabed area inside the 10 meter depth contour where only the engine block and wheelhouse remain as structural descriptions standing no higher than the surrounding rocks, posing no hazard to navigation. Subsequent hydrographic record reviews list the site as foul ground with the hull well broken up.
