FERROUS PROP WITH FOUR NARROW BLADES. ON EVEN KEEL WITH STERN S. PLATES FALLING OFF EVERYWHERE BUT STERN SECTION RELATIVELY INTACT. CENTRE PART HAS COLLPASED OUTWARDS. BOW VERY CONFUSED BUT RECOGNISABLE WITH MOST OF RIVETTED PLATES ON THE SEABED. WOODEN DECKING LONG GONE. GALLEY CONTAINED STACKED PLATES AND A GLASS JAR WITH A CORRODED METAL BAR HOLDING IT IN POSITION. CONSIDERED TO BE DENMORE. CINC REQUESTED. (DIVED BY J MCLEOD & M SINCLAIR, VIA M SINCLAIR). NCA.

BUILT IN 1878 IN ABERDEEN. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY ALEXANDER NICOL & CO, ABERDEEN. ONE BOILER, COMPOUND EXPANSION ENGINE OF 50 NHP, SINGLE SHAFT. PASSAGE LEITH FOR ABERDEEN. STRUCK ROCKS AT THE NW POINT OF MAY ISLAND. CAME ASTERN OFF ROCKS AND ATTEMPTED TO MAKE LEITH OR GRANTON. BY 0400 WAS DOWN FWD AND DIFFICULT TO STEER. ROLLED TO PORT AT 0415 AND SANK.
