Simplified Wreck Survey

The wreck of the vessel STAGAN is located off the coast of Mukalla in the Gulf of Aden at coordinates 14 36 N, 49 16 E. Reported aground on a sandy beach, the wreck lies with a 15-degree list to port and is situated in an area free of underwater rocks. Following the grounding in August 1984, the vessel was officially abandoned by its owners in December 1985 with no subsequent salvage attempts performed. This underwater obstruction remains at the recorded position near the Mukalla coastline for navigational reference.
