The Slot Ter Hooge wreck is an underwater obstruction located off the coast of the Selvagens Islands, Portugal, at coordinates 33 5.78 N, 16 19.75 W. Originally documented as having run aground in the vicinity, this historical site is famous for the recovery of approximately 3.5 tons of bullion by John Lethbridge using early diving technology. The wreck site was further explored in 1977 by Belgian diver Robert Stenuit, who recovered additional silver artifacts. While early documentation placed the vessel inshore, revised hydrographic surveying amended the filing position for the wreck to 33 06.0 N, 16 20.0 W. As a significant historical underwater site, the Slot Ter Hooge remains a point of interest for maritime history and underwater archaeology.
