Simplified Wreck Survey
Underwater wreck survey details for position 51 4.369 N, 1 22.792 E. This historic shipwreck is the remains of a wooden sailing vessel carrying a cargo of marble. Recent hydrographic surveys by Gardline in September 2016 recorded the wreck length as 70.69 meters, width 13 meters, and height 8.6 meters, oriented at 035/215 degrees. The least multibeam echo sounder depth is 18.4 meters in a general surrounding depth of 27 meters. The wreck is largely intact, partially buried, and lies on its side with superstructure amidships. Previous Royal Navy vessel examinations by HMS Bulldog and HMS Roebuck noted strong magnetometer deflections and dimensions around 75 meters long.
