The historical wreck of the River Lossie was originally designated as a dangerous wreck with a green conical buoy before being marked as foul. The site was subsequently searched and dispersed by explosives in October 1958, with divers examining the remains the following day and confirming the area was safe for navigation. Modern hydrographic surveys found no sign of the wreck or contacts during sonar sweeps, confirming the site is clear.
