VESSEL, BUILT IN 1927 BY BLYTH SB CO. LTD, GLASGOW, WAS TORPEDOED AND SUNK BY A GERMAN SUBMARINE 19M OFF THE LONGSHIPS WHILST ON PASSAGE FROM HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, FOR MANCHESTER. ALL 53 CREW SURVIVED. (LL WW2 & SHIPWRECK INDEX OF THE BRITISH ISLES).
