Despite earlier reports of a sonar contact and potential wreckage, the site is currently classified as not located and disproved, meaning no significant structural remains are confirmed at these coordinates.

Circumstances of loss

VESSEL, BUILT IN 1927 BY BLYTH SB CO. LTD, GLASGOW, WAS TORPEDOED AND SUNK BY A GERMAN SUBMARINE 19M OFF THE LONGSHIPS WHILST ON PASSAGE FROM HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA, FOR MANCHESTER. ALL 53 CREW SURVIVED. (LL WW2 & SHIPWRECK INDEX OF THE BRITISH ISLES).
