Historic Shipwreck and Underwater Obstruction Details: Located off the coast of The Downs, Kent, England, this underwater site is a designated historic wreck. The site is situated at coordinates 51 13.966 N, 1 26.01 E. Historical surveys describe the area as containing structural debris including a central structural anomaly and multiple elongated objects identified as cannons. The seabed consists of rock with fine-grained infills. Following multiple hydrographic surveys, the site has been categorized as an underwater obstruction with a restricted radius of 50 meters to protect its archaeological significance. Recent bathymetric data indicates varying depths of 11.06 meters to 14.34 meters. Physical dimensions of the main debris field have been recorded as approximately 22 meters in length and 8 meters in width, with smaller associated objects measuring 1.5 meters by 1 meter. A notable scour pattern measuring 36 meters by 18 meters has been observed on the seabed near the main structure. All maritime vessels are advised to treat the area as a designated historic wreck site.
