23.8.74 BUILT IN 1967 BY SASEBO HEAVY INDUSTRIES, SASEBO. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY EASTERN BULK CARRIERS & TANKERS, INC. PASSAGE LOURENCO MARQUES FOR ROTTERDAM. WAS BEACHED AFTER TAKING A SUDDEN LIST IN HEAVY WEATHER, SUSTAINING LEAK IN FORWARD TANKS AND LATER COULD NOT BE REFLOATED. ALL CREW SAFELY RESCUED ON 23.8.74 AFTER FINALLY ABANDONING THE VESSEL. (LL, 21.10.74).
