BUILT IN 1974 BY BEL-AIRE SHIPYARD LTD, NORTH VANCOUVER. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY GARDLINE SURVEYS LTD, PORT AUX FRANCE, KERGUELEN. TWO 16 CYLINDER OIL ENGINES FOR 5200BHP. WHILE CONDUCTING HYDROGRAPHIC SURVEYS, A CHAIN BEING USED TO LOWER A DATA BEACON THROUGH THE BOTTOM SNAPPED. VESSEL FLOODED SLOWLY. US WARSHIP SUPPLIED THREE PUMPS BUT ONLY ONE WORKED. VESSEL SANK 10 HOURS LATER. NO MEN LOST.
