Simplified Wreck Survey

The wreck of the vessel MENEMAR is located in the Bay of Biscay off the northern coast of Spain at coordinates 43 19.93 N, 2 5.08 W. Historical survey records indicate the wreck was previously charted as a dangerous wreck with position approximate (PA) at 43 20.00 N, 02 05.00 W. Following subsequent hydrographic reviews and comparisons with Spanish nautical charts, it was determined that the wreck is not represented on current official large-scale charts of the region. As of May 2009, the status of the MENEMAR was officially amended to dead and the obstruction was removed from navigational records. There is no longer a charted hazard to navigation at this location.
