9.6.40 VESSEL, [EX-NERVIER, EX-WAR ARYAN]. ON PASSAGE FROM SUNDERLAND FOR CIVITA VECCHIA. PASSED ST ABBS HD ON 9.6.40. ON 11.6.40 A VESSEL WAS SENT OUT TO INTERCEPT. AN ATTEMPT TO SCUTTLE BY CREW WAS AVOIDED. TUG SENT OUT TO TOW VESSEL IN OR TO BEACH VESSEL. THE VESSEL WAS BEACHED ON 14.6.40. (MOT WAR RISK).
