Simplified Wreck Survey
The shipwreck Markab is located at coordinates 25 26.083 N, 59 11.333 E in the Gulf of Oman off the coast of the Arabian Sea. Originally aground on July 28, 1976, and abandoned after sand built up around it, the vessel was officially fixed in its final position on November 24, 1978. The structural dimensions of the wreck are approximately 36 meters long, 9 meters wide, with a height to the masthead of 15 meters. Historical survey reports from HMS Hydra and HMS Herald document the site, which is recognized by the UK Hydrographic Office.
