Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck of Maria Marta C is located off the coast of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in the waters of the Río de la Plata estuary at coordinates 34 35.883 S, 58 19.533 W. Historical hydrographic survey records from August 1974 indicate that the obstruction was initially marked by a green conical light buoy displaying a flashing green light every 5 seconds before the vessel was successfully refloated and the marker was withdrawn in late August 1974. Subsequent reports from November 1976 noted the position near kilometer 3.600, situated approximately 40 meters south of the North Bank and marked by a green light buoy positioned 10 meters to the south.
