BUILT 1958 BY WARNOWWERFT, WARNEMUNDE. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY DEUTSCHE SEEREEDEREI. CAPSIZED AFTER A COLLISION WITH JAPANESE MV 'YAMASHIRO MARU' IN OCT 1964, OFF BROADNESS PT, RIVER THAMES. SALVAGE TEAMS REFLOATED THE VESSEL IN AUG 1965 AND IT WAS TAKEN TO TILBURY DOCKS FOR REPAIRS, IT WAS SUBSEQUENTLY SOLD TO GREEK INTERESTS. VESSEL SPRANG A LEAK AND SANK DURING STORMY WEATHER IN THE BAY OF BISCAY, ABOUT 20M OFF BREST, WHILST ON PASSAGE UNDER TOW TILBURY FOR PIRAEUS TO BE COMPLETELY REPAIRED AND REFITTED. (MSD).
