Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck LIBERTY is located underwater near the coast of Kalymnos Island in the Aegean Sea at coordinates 37 0.74 N, 27 0.67 E. The vessel grounded on rocks on August 1, 1997, and subsequently foundered in this position after it became impossible to salvage the craft. The wreck site, recorded under reference LL 309, is situated in the waters surrounding Kalymnos. As a result of the grounding and the slow sinking process, the vessel remains as an underwater obstruction at the reported coordinates.
