Simplified Wreck Survey

Shipwreck site of the vessel JOHANNA located at coordinates 51 1.18 N, 4 31.534 W near the coast. Historical survey records from 1983 to 2009 document the wreck breaking apart rapidly into two main rusty sections lying on their starboard sides with scattered wreckage between them. Later surveys in 2009 noted the remains were not located during multibeam sonar passes close inshore.

(TELECON CG/WATSON). NCA. 10.3.83 PHOTOGRAPHS, TAKEN FEB 1983, SHOW THAT BOW & STERN SECTIONS HAVE BROKEN AWAY & HEEL TO STBD. SIDES OF MAIN HULL HAVE BEEN COMPLETELY FLATTENED. (T THATCHER, NM HISTORIES). NCA. 18.2.98 WHEN VIEWED FROM CLIFFS ABOVE, VESSEL COMPRISES TWO RUSTY CHUNKS. BOTH LIE ON THEIR STBD SIDES, WELL SEPARATED, WITH WRECKAGE BETWEEN.
