BUILT IN 1958 BY W GRAY & CO LTD, HARTLEPOOL. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY MONTROSE SHIPPING CO LTD. HAD LOADED A CARGO OF BAGGED CEMENT AT CONSTANTZA FOR PORT HARCOURT, WAS DISCHARGING AT DAWES ISLAND ANCORAGE IN THE BONNY RIVER WHEN FIRE BROKE OUT IN THE ENGINE ROOM. ENGINE ROOM AND ACCOMMODATION WERE DESTROYED AND THE SEVERE HEAT CAUSED BUCKLING OF HULL PLATING & CONSEQUENTIAL FLOODING. WAS BEACHED S OF DAWES ISLAND & ABANDONED AS CTL. (DODS).
