SANK AFTER THE ENGINE ROOM FLOODED AFTER AN EXPLOSION IN THE AMMONIA PLANT, 250 MILES NW OF CAPE TOWN. 14 CREW WERE PICKED UP STRAIGHT AWAY, 4 WERE RESCUED 6 DAYS LATER 120 MILES FROM WHERE THE VESSEL SANK. (LL VOLS. 224 & 225)
