Simplified Wreck Survey
The Honora is a shipwreck located off the coast of Whitby in the North Sea at coordinates 54 31.51 N, 0 29.103 W. Historically reported by three separate vessels in 1918 as being approximately 6 miles east-northeast of Whitby, the site has been subject to multiple hydrographic surveys over the decades. While initial records identified the wreck in the Whitby area near Baymans Hole, subsequent underwater investigations conducted in 1989 and a 2016 multibeam survey failed to locate any wreckage at the charted position. The site is currently classified as non-found, meaning there is no current indication of a visible wreck or underwater obstruction at these specific coordinates.
