Simplified Wreck Survey
The wreck of the Corsican Prince is an underwater obstruction located off the coast of Whitby, North Yorkshire, at coordinates 54 30.076 N, 0 29.013 W. This historic shipwreck rests at a general depth of 49 meters, with a least multibeam depth of 41.3 meters. The vessel measures approximately 100.3 meters in length and 15.9 meters in beam, oriented on a 170/350 degree axis. Although the hull remains largely in one piece, the structure is severely disintegrated. Divers have identified the site by the presence of timber railway sleepers in the forward holds, two Scotch boilers, and a steering pedestal. The stern stands high and leans to the port side, while the midships engine room shows significant damage with the engine fallen 90 degrees to port. An unnamed bell has been recovered from the port side near the bow. This site is a recognized submerged hazard for navigation in the North Sea.

STEERING PEDESTAL LOCATED IN FRONT OF THE BOILERS ON THE STBD SIDE. TIMBER CARGO (SLEEPERS) IS EVIDENT IN THE FWD HOLDS. UNNAMED BELL LOCATED ON PORT SIDE BEHIND THE BOW.
