The underwater wreck named HOMESTEAD is located at coordinates 12 29.347 N, 74 53.417 E off the coast of India near Bombay and Colombo. Historical hydrographic surveys from the UK Hydrographic Office dating from 1927 to 1981 document the position and depth of the wreck. Initial reports in 1927 placed the obstruction near these coordinates, with subsequent surveys adjusting its charted position and recording buoy markers. By 1936, a least depth over the wreck was measured at 6 fathoms and 0 feet, with the marking buoys later removed. Modern charts updated the wreck depth to a shallow water depth of 7 fathoms and later as 13.0 meters.
