Initial reports placed the wreck near 60 25.000 N, 01 00.000 W, noting that the site posed no danger to surface shipping due to the depth of the water and salvage was deemed impossible. In 1980, reports surfaced that the wheelhouse had been recovered in a fishing net several miles off Kirk Baas, though the precise location remained too vague for standard nautical charting. A multi-beam survey conducted in December 2017 confirmed that the wreck was not located within the current dataset, leading to an official status change to dead. The wreck site is no longer charted at the original coordinates.
