23.1.79 EX-WW II DESTROYER. FINALLY USED AS TARGET VESSEL AND SUNK BY FLEET SUBMARINE SWIFTSURE SOME 300 MILES SW OF GIBRALTAR. (NAVY NEWS 1/79). WAS THE VESSEL USED BY GENERAL EISENHOWER WHEN HE INSPECTED THE NORMANDY LANDINGS ON D-DAY, 6TH JUNE 1944. (SUNDAY TELEGRAPH 23.1.79).
