BUILT IN 1935 BY VICKERS ARMSTRONG. THREE DRUM BOILERS, TURBINE ENGINES OF 34,000SHP FOR 36 KNOTS. FOUR 4.7 INCH, 6 SMALLER GUNS, EIGHT TORPEDO TUBES. WHILST ACTING WITH A FORCE UNDER ADMIRAL KING ENGAGED IN PREVENTING AN ITALIAN CONVOY MAKING PASSAGE FROM GREECE TO CRETE, WAS BOMBED AND SUNK BY GERMAN DIVE-BOMBERS OFF THE ISLAND OF ANTIKITHERA. 80 MEN LOST.
