(LAND & MARINE, HI 414B). AMEND TO WK 43MTRS IN REVISED POSN. BR STD. HH100/351/10 24.11.95 BOW SECTION STANDS HIGH AND IS LEANING OVER AT 45DEGS TO PORT AND HAS FALLEN BACKWARDS. FAIRLY WELL DECAYED APART FROM THE MAIN STRUCTURE. FWD HOLDS HAVE COLLAPSED FLAT ONTO SEABED AND PLATING IS WELL DECAYED, SUGGESTING AN IRON HULL. MIDSHIPS SECTION STANDING HIGH WITH TWO SCOTCH BOILERS. COMPOUND ENGINE IS LEANING OVER TO STBD AND IS CLOSE TO THE STBD BOILER. TELEGRAPH FOUND IN FRONT OF THE PORT BOILER. STEERING ENGINE ALSO ON STBD SIDE IN FRONT OF BOILERS. BOWS SOUTH. PILE OF COAL SEEN JUST AFT. (A C JACKSON & C A RACEY). 27.2.06 EUT POSN: 5433.909N, 0035.768W. BA 1612 [6TH EDN, MAY' 02]. SEP 2017/000002822 8.5.17 EXAM'D 13.12.16 IN 5433.894N, 0035.798W [WGD]. LEAST M/B DEPTH 43.59MTRS IN GEN DEPTH 48MTRS, LENGTH 85.3MTRS, WIDTH 15.2MTRS, HEIGHT 4.9MTRS, ORIENTATION 170/350 DEGS. WRECK IS SEVERELY DISINTEGRATED AND IS NOW BROKEN UP INTO THREE PIECES. BOW SECTION PARTIALLY INTACT, BUT HAS FALLEN OVER TO PORT. THE FORWARD HOLD HAS COLLAPSED TO THE SEABED, WHILST THE MIDSHIPS STILL STANDS HIGH, CONTAINING TWO SINGLE BOILERS AND AN ENGINE BLOCK. THE AFT SECTION ALSO HAS FLATTENED TO THE SEABED, WHILST A PORTION OF THE STERN SECTION APPEARS TO REMAIN INTACT. (MMT, HI 1491). AMEND NDW 43MTRS IN REVISED POSN. |

BUILT IN 1881 BY W PICKERSGILL AND SONS, SUNDERLAND WITH COMPOUND ENGINES. OWNED BY F J BROOMFIELD. SANK AFTER COLLISION OFF WHITBY IN APRIL 1907 WHILE ON PASSAGE FROM THE TYNE TO BORDEAUX. (DODS).
