The shipwreck known as the Gallic Stream is located at the coordinates 68 07.430N, 15 23.697E, resting underwater off the coast of Norway near the islands of Hopoy and Lilleholme in the Bremnesodden, Havaroy region. This historical wreck site lies at a depth of 25 meters. Originally reported as having run aground in mid-January 1975 before sinking shortly thereafter, the wreck site was subsequently identified by divers. The submerged vessel remains positioned in the waterway between the large island of Hopoy and the small island of Lilleholme. 14.1.75 BUILT IN 1971. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY GALLIC ESTATE LTD. PASSAGE SVELGEN, NORWAY TO THE ARCTIC PORT OF STERNOY. DEVELOPED ENGINE TROUBLE AND RAN AGROUND IN THE VESTFJORD, NORTH OF BODO, ON BREMNESODDEN I HAMAROY ON 14.1.75. CREW RESCUED BY HELICOPTER. SLIPPED OFF THE ROCKS AND SANK 16.1.75. (MSD).
