The shipwreck FREIDIG is located at coordinates 58 51.973 N, 5 0.08 W off the coast of Northern Scotland near Strathy Point. Historical hydrographic records indicate conflicting reports regarding the vessel's final resting place, with various surveys from 1944 to 2005 attempting to locate the wreck. While initial reports placed a vessel foundering in the vicinity of Cape Wrath and Strathy Point during February and March 1944, subsequent high-resolution surveys conducted in 1983 and 2005 failed to positively identify the structure, resulting in the wreck being classified as disproved and non-dangerous to navigation. Current UK Hydrographic Office data marks the site as non-existent or not located at the previously surveyed position.
