Simplified Wreck Survey

Historical survey records from the UK Hydrographic Office indicate the potential underwater wreck of the vessel Essonite, possibly a local fishermen fastener, located off the south coast of England in the English Channel near Cornwall at coordinates 50 38.782 N, 5 4.163 W. Originally reported by R Davis Sub-Aqua as a probable wreck in 1969 based on Decca navigation, subsequent official hydrographic surveys conducted in November 2001 (HI 799) failed to locate any obstruction within a 0.4-mile search radius, resulting in the site being officially disproved and classified as dead with no further charted action required.
