The shipwreck of the Empire Ford is located off the coast of Northumberland near Amble at coordinates 55 38 N, 1 37.097 W. Historical records show the vessel suffered a grounding on January 1, 1943, before being successfully salved and towed to Amble, Northumberland, on March 6, 1943. Modern hydrographic surveys conducted in April 2021 by Meritaito under reference HI1591 confirmed that the wreck was not located within the multibeam dataset from 2020, indicating no further action is required at this site.
