Circumstances of loss
BUILT IN 1834 IN DUNDEE OF COMPOSITE CONSTRUCTION. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY THE DUNDEE, PERTH AND LONDON SS CO. TWO BOILERS, COMPOUND EXPANSION ENGINE OF 190HP, PADDLE PROPULSION. WAS WRECKED ON THE FARNE ISLANDS DUE TO BOILER DIFFICULTIES CAUSED BY BAD WEATHER. SOME OF PASSENGERS & CREW WERE RESCUED BY GRACE DARLING & HER FATHER WILLIAM.
