GROUNDED AND BROKE UP. PASSAGE SUNDSVAILL FOR MANCHESTER. CREW OF 20. 3 MANAGED TO MAN THE SHIP'S BOAT BUT WERE WASHED AWAY. REMAINDER RESCUED BY THE N SUNDERLAND LIFEBOAT. NEXT DAY THE SHIP'S BOAT WAS SPOTTED OUT TO SEA AND THE 3 MEN WERE RESCUED. EX- ESHCOLBROOK, BUILT 1892 BY W GRAY & CO., LTD., WITH 3 CYLINDER TRIPLE EXPANSION ENGINE, 2 BOILERS, SINGLE SHAFT. RENAMED EMMA IN 1913 & OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY ANGFARTYGS A/B EMMA, GEFLE, SWEDEN. STRANDED ON KNIVESTONE IN BAD WEATHER, FLOATED OFF DURING THE NIGHT AND DRIFTED AWAY SINKING SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE ROCKS. (R YOUNG)
