Simplified Wreck Survey

The wreck of the vessel CONGO is located in the Thames Estuary at coordinates 51 35.632 N, 1 10.297 E. Historical survey records indicate that the wreck was originally documented in 1945, but subsequent hydrographic searches conducted in 1957 and 1973 failed to locate any trace of the obstruction using echo sounder and sonar equipment. Due to the lack of evidence found during these close search operations, the position of the CONGO remains unverified and the structure may no longer exist at this site.
