The shipwreck CATO is located in the Atlantic Ocean off the southwest coast of Cornwall, United Kingdom, at coordinates 50 21.038 N, 6 0.896 W. This underwater obstruction sits in a general water depth of 75.5 meters with a least multibeam depth of 70.81 meters. Originally reported as a fisherman's fastener, the wreck of the CATO was confirmed after a ship's bell bearing the name was recovered by divers in 2006. The vessel lies on its starboard side on an orientation of 034/214 degrees. Structural surveys describe the wreck as 60 meters long and 12 meters wide with a height of 4.96 meters. While the vessel is noted as well collapsed in some areas, recent examinations indicate the structure is generally intact with minor debris scattered in the immediate vicinity and a strong magnetic anomaly present.
