The historic shipwreck of the vessel Carlton is located off the coast near Cape Carysfort in the Falkland Islands at coordinates 51 25.26 S, 57 50.26 W. Historical survey records indicate the ship was wrecked on Cape Carysfort, with the remains of a ship engine found in the kelp west of the cape, alongside an 18-foot anchor shank and cable discovered on the rocks.
