REPORT DTD 15.9.48 STATES THAT THE BUILD UP OF SAND HAS CAUSED THE WRECK TO SETTLE IN IT. STATED ON 30.3.50 UNCOVERS BY 0.5MTRS AT VERY LOW TIDE. STILL IN EXISTENCE, 3.11.52. NAVALS FRANCAIS, BLAINVILLE WITH TURBINE ENGINES OF 35,000SHP CAPLE OF 34.5 KNOTS. SHELLED BY US CRUISER AUGUSTA & A DESTROYER. VESSEL MADE FOR HARBOUR & WAS ATTACKED BY PLANES FROM US CARRIER RANGER. 11 OF 159 COMPLEMENT LOST. (DODS)
