Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck Brestois is a historic maritime obstruction located off the coast of Casablanca, Morocco, at coordinates 33 36.873 N, 7 36.25 W. This wreckage was historically identified as an 80-meter long vessel lying on its port side with its bow oriented at 024 degrees, positioned approximately 35 meters from the Delure Jetty. Survey records from the mid-20th century described the vessel as settled into the seabed due to significant sand accumulation, with the structure uncovering by 0.5 meters during very low tide conditions. Following subsequent hydrographic reviews and updates to maritime charts, the status of the Brestois wreck was amended to dead and removed from official navigational charts as of 1978.

REPORT DTD 15.9.48 STATES THAT THE BUILD UP OF SAND HAS CAUSED THE WRECK TO SETTLE IN IT. STATED ON 30.3.50 UNCOVERS BY 0.5MTRS AT VERY LOW TIDE. STILL IN EXISTENCE, 3.11.52. (FRENCH WK RECORDS 1976 NO.10937/021) H3867/77 27.2.78 NOT SHOWN ON FRENCH 5697. AMENDED TO DEAD. DELETE. - NM BLOCK 475/78.
