Simplified Wreck Survey
The shipwreck of the Bel Lily is an officially charted underwater wreck located off the coast of Peterhead in the North Sea at coordinates 57 32.838 N, 1 43.187 W. Sunk by a mine during World War I in 1917, the highly degraded remains lie in a general water depth of 47.5 meters with a least multibeam depth of 42.87 meters. Modern hydrographic surveys confirm the wreck measures approximately 37 meters in length, 11 meters in width, and stands 4.7 meters high, featuring a 1.6-meter scour and a strong magnetic anomaly. Resting on a 065/245 degree orientation with its bow facing west-southwest, the site is characterized by static fishing gear entangled on the structure.
