Simplified Wreck Survey

The shipwreck site known as AMAZON (POSSIBLY) is located off the coast of Port Talbot, Wales, at coordinates 51 35.077 N, 3 48.722 W. Although initially reported as a stranded wreck in 1957, subsequent hydrographic surveys have struggled to locate physical remains. While a local report in 1979 suggested wreckage may occasionally uncover near the North Pier, extensive sonar sweeps conducted by HMS Fawn in 1990 and multi-beam (M/B) datasets from Titan Surveys in 2018 failed to identify any structural obstruction at this location. Current maritime records indicate that if any remains of the vessel exist, they are likely buried beneath the seabed or do not pose a danger to navigation, leading to a status of No Further Action (NFA).

NFA.
