Simplified Wreck Survey
The shipwreck Alethea Anne was historically located at coordinates 50 55.344 N, 0 48.059 E in the English Channel off the coast of East Sussex. Originally reported as an underwater obstruction, the wreck site was subject to extensive salvage operations between 1990 and 2013. Following the recovery of the hull, gantry, engine, and structural bearers, the site was surveyed and cleared of all debris. Subsequent multibeam sonar surveys conducted in 2013 confirmed that the shipwreck Alethea Anne is no longer present at this location, and the seabed is now considered clear of wreckage.

ONLY HULL FROM KEEL TO 2FT BELOW MAIN DECK AND GANTRY REMAIN ON SEABED AND STAND UP TO 5FT HIGH, THOUGH PART HAS SUNK INTO SAND. FURTHER RECOVERY ATTEMPTS WILL BE MADE. (OCC, TH, HARWICH, TELEXES 4 & 6.4.90). FOR FILING ONLY. 26.4.90 SALVAGE WORK FINISHED. ENGINE APPROX 2FT ABOVE SEA BED & SINKING. (OCC, TH, HARWICH, TLX 19.4.90). NCA.
