Simplified Wreck Survey

Historic UK Hydrographic Office survey data reveals the underwater wreck of a Short Sunderland flying boat—initially misidentified as a Lancaster bomber and later associated with the wreck of La Combattente—located off the coast of England in the North Sea at coordinates 53 21.908 N, 1 0.184 E. Examined in July 2016, the site is classified as a foul obstruction with a least multibeam depth of 16.08 meters in a general depth of 16 meters. The structural dimensions of the mostly buried wreckage measure 6.4 meters in length, 1.3 meters in width, and 0.7 meters in height, with an orientation of 129/309 degrees.
