Simplified Wreck Survey

Submerged WWII aviation wreck located off the English Channel coast near Sussex at coordinates 50 49.402 N, 0 23.804 E. Historical records indicate permission was granted in 1975 to recover a Supermarine Spitfire fighter plane near National Grid position TQ 689 054. However, modern hydrographic surveys conducted in December 2013 using multibeam sonar failed to locate the aircraft, leading maritime authorities to classify the site as assumed lifted and dead, with no charted danger remaining.
