BUILT 1954 BY VICKERS ARMSTRONG WITH TURBINE ENGINES. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY WORLD TANKERS CORPORATION. GREEK TANKER WORLD HARMONY, BOUND FOR NOVOROSSISK IN BALLAST, COLLIDED WITH THE YUGOSLAV TANKER PETAR ZORANIC, LOADED WITH BENZINE & PETROL. BOTH VESSELS CAUGHT FIRE AND DRIFTED ON TO THE TURKISH SS TARSUS ANCHORED NEAR ISTINYE. ALL 3 SHIPS WERE EVENTUALLY DESTROYED BY FIRE, WITH TOTAL LOSS OF 52 LIVES. (DODS)
