Circumstances of loss

BUILT 1960 BY BRODOGRADILISTE III MAJ WITH TURBINE ENGINES. OWNED AT TIME OF LOSS BY YUGOSLAV GOVERNMENT. ON PASSAGE TUAPSE TO HAMBURG. GREEK TANKER WORLD HARMONY, BOUND FOR NOVOROSSISK IN BALLAST, COLLIDED WITH THE PETAR ZORANIC. BOTH VESSELS CAUGHT FIRE AND DRIFTED ON TO THE TURKISH SS TARSUS ANCHORED NEAR ISTINYE. ALL 3 SHIPS WERE EVENTUALLY DESTROYED BY FIRE, WITH TOTAL LOSS OF 52 LIVES. (DODS)
