Simplified Wreck Survey

The underwater wreck of the vessel Wilson is located at coordinates 51 48.025 N, 5 55.06 W near the Smalls Lighthouse off the coast of Wales. Originally reported as a sinking position ten miles northwest of Smalls Light in April 1918, the site was later investigated by hydrographic surveys. During sonar searches conducted by HMS Herald in July 1977 and HMS Bulldog in July 1983, the obstruction was not found or located in the area search, leading naval authorities to delete the dangerous wreck notation from admiralty charts.
