WELL BROKEN UP, BETWEEN BOILERS AND BOWS WRECKAGE IS FLAT, BUT BOWS STAND UPRIGHT. AFT OF ENGINE WK IS QUITE FLAT WITH ONLY THE HONEYCOMBE STRUCTURE SHOWING THROUGH SAND. A PILE OF WRECKAGE ABOUT 9FT HIGH FOUND BEHIND THE AFTER SECTION. FITTINGS AND ENGINE PIECES ARE SCATTERED AROUND IN THE VICINITY. (E GILES, 18.5.76). INS AS WK 31MTRS. BR STD. ALTHOUGH THIS POINTS TOWARDS 'VINE BRANCH' THIS VESSEL WAS TORPEDOED AND SEEN TO SINK WITH ALL HANDS SW OF IRELAND, THE NAME AND POSN BEING GIVEN IN U55'S WAR DIARY.
