ABANDONED BY CREW IN SINKING CONDITION FOR UNKNOWN REASON. CREW RECOVERED. VESSEL PRESUMED TO HAVE SUNK. INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT CARGO HAD BEEN OFFLOADED TO LIGHTERS IN PORT SAID PRIOR TO CANAL TRANSIT. THE OWNER, D P KAVADAS, DISAPPEARED.
