Initial surveying reports at coordinates 60 28.817 N, 28 13.217 E noted a mast showing above the water line, though subsequent examinations failed to locate the wreckage, leading to the classification of the site as a Dangerous Wreck with position approximate (DW PA). Due to a lack of physical evidence during follow-up hydrographic surveys, the wreck of the MV VERA was officially amended to dead and removed from active maritime charts. Navigation charts BA 2826 and BA 2247 previously tracked this obstruction, but it is no longer considered a navigational hazard in the Gulf of Finland.
