Simplified Wreck Survey
The German submarine U-90 wreck is historically recorded off the coast of the Isle of Wight, near St. Catherine’s Point. While early nautical charts listed its position at 50 32.036 N, 0 59.421 W, subsequent hydrographic surveys conducted in 1977, 2003, and 2016 failed to locate the vessel, leading maritime authorities to classify the site as non-found. Despite extensive sonar searches and investigations in the English Channel, the wreckage of the U-90 has not been identified as a physical obstruction on the seabed. Any previous references to a submarine wreck at these coordinates are now considered obsolete or deleted from current nautical charts.
