The underwater wreck of German submarine U-245 is located at coordinates 55 25.798 N, 6 19.857 W off the coast of Northern Ireland and the United Kingdom. Sunk as part of Operation Deadlight, historical hydrographic surveys from the UK Hydrographic Office note that while early sweeps by HMS Cook and HMS Mermaid struggled to locate the exact remains, subsequent research by K Heath in 2004 identified the site as probably being the World War II U-boat. The wreck lies at a depth of 119 meters and remains a notable historical underwater obstruction in the region.
