Simplified Wreck Survey
The wreck of the Tran Ninh is located at the coordinates 10 20.222 N, 107 2.355 E off the coast of Vietnam near Vung Tau in the South China Sea. Originally identified as a dangerous underwater obstruction in 1945, the site was historically marked by a green conical buoy and later by an isolated danger buoy with a flashing light. Following a structural survey and correspondence with Vietnamese authorities in 2016, the wreck of the Tran Ninh at these coordinates was officially removed from nautical charts and marked as amended dead. The site is no longer considered an active underwater hazard to navigation at this position.
